KFC Ghana rolled out its 15th anniversary deal on Saturday 15 August 2026, offering 1 piece of chicken, 2 tenders and small chips for GH₵15 from 9AM to 5PM at all stores nationwide. The offer was in-store only, no delivery, while stocks lasted.

Long lines formed early at branches across the country. Videos from Sunyani showed crowds waiting before the 9AM opening. Similar scenes hit the 37 branch, Kwashieman, Sakumono (queue stretching toward Spintex Road), Circle, Mile 7 and others. UTV Ghana, Ghana Insider and multiple social media accounts captured the turnout as customers pushed to grab the reduced-price meal. The regular WOW Deal for the same items sits around GH₵42, making the anniversary price a sharp drop.

At the Ashaiman branch the crowd grew intense. People pressed against the entrance, a glass door shattered, and officers from the Ghana Police Service stepped in to disperse the group and restore order. GhanaWeb reported that calm returned after the intervention, with the broken glass left as evidence of the scramble. Other locations stayed busy but without the same reported disorder.

KFC Ghana had promoted the deal for days on its official X account @KFC_Ghana. Posts highlighted “FIFTEEN YEARS. FIFTEEN CEDIS. ONE BIG CELEBRATION” and confirmed the exact package and hours. Days earlier the company publicly dismissed a circulating image claiming the promo had been cancelled, stating the official deal remained on for 15 August and urging customers to follow only their channels.

The response fits a familiar pattern in Ghana when popular brands drop prices this low for a limited window. Similar one-day or short-run offers in the past have drawn heavy foot traffic and tested store capacity. What stood out this time was the speed and scale across both Accra and regional cities on a single Saturday.

Staff at multiple outlets faced nonstop demand within the 9AM–5PM window. Some customers left empty-handed once stocks ran low, consistent with the “while stocks last” rule. No official statement from KFC Ghana on total meals sold or any store closures had appeared by late afternoon on 15 August 2026.

The promo turned a standard anniversary marker into a full-day test of demand for affordable chicken in Ghana. Branches that prepared for volume still met queues that stretched outside and, in one case, required police support.
