Terry's Drive to Teshie
On the evening of Sunday, 20th September 2026, Terry, also known as Nana Yaw Kyere, told his pregnant partner he was going out to buy something and drove to Teshie in his 2017/2018 model Honda Civic to see the girl, according to his close friend. Upon arriving at the location he had been given, Terry shared his live location and pictures of the place with a close friend in case anything happened. The WhatsApp messages were later deleted, and that was how his friends lost contact with him. Some earlier reports stated that Terry had travelled to Teshie for a phone business transaction. His close friend, however, insists he went to see the girl and not for a phone deal.
The Gossips24 Avenue Interview
In an interview with Gossips24 Avenue, Terry's close friend claimed that the mutual friend who had received the messages had forwarded them to a different number. When he went back to the chat, he realised that the location and pictures had been deleted and that the new messages that later popped up did not sound anything like Terry. The friend then tried calling Terry, but the calls did not go through. Terry's friend also claimed in the interview that the girl's boyfriend, Philip Tefe, had warned Terry on countless occasions to stay away from his girlfriend, but Terry ignored the warnings. He added that Terry only realised it was a setup when he got there. Because it was his first time visiting the girl, he did not know that she was sending him to her boyfriend's room. Had he visited her before, he would have known. According to the friend, Terry's phone was tracked to the house in question, and upon request, Philip handed it over to investigators. Following this, Philip Tefe and the girl were arrested. Reports on the number of arrests differ: the Daily Guide reported two arrests, a woman and a man alleged to have posed as a soldier, while Nkonkonsa reported that three suspects had been arrested. The police have not officially confirmed the number or the identities of those in custody. The close friend also claimed that Philip Tefe had hidden firearms, bullets, bulletproof vests, a fake soldier's ID and fake soldier's uniforms in his room. According to the friend, Philip also had pictures of himself dressed as a soldier hanging on his walls. This discovery led investigators to ask what his profession was, to which Philip Tefe answered that he worked in a church. The police have not confirmed these claims.
The Recovery of the Body and the Honda Civic
On 24th September 2026, the suspect, Philip Tefe, who had by then been arrested, reportedly directed the police to an area near the sea in Teshie where Terry had been buried. Terry's family alleges that an attempt was made to burn or bury the body but it failed. The body was later taken away for investigation. According to the Daily Guide, it was sent to the Police Hospital for an autopsy. According to Terry's friend, his mother and a friend were later called to identify the body. His grieving mother, who could not stop crying, confirmed his identity. Terry's Honda Civic was also traced to a mechanic's workshop in the Teshie area. The mechanic alerted the Manet Police and towed the vehicle to the Manet Police Station, where it was impounded for investigation, the Daily Guide reported.
Philip's Account
In a video shared by Ask Media on X, Philip, who was handcuffed in the back seat of a police vehicle, claimed that he found Terry dead after he had left the two of them to go for a walk. In the same video, he also said he and Terry had fought before he left the room, according to YEN.com.gh.
“I didn’t kill Terry. We only fought, but I left the room to go for a walk.”

Awaiting Police Confirmation
Much of what has circulated so far comes from Terry's friends, his family and social media, and some of it may not hold up once the full facts emerge. The Ghana Police Service is yet to issue an official statement, and we are awaiting their confirmation of the arrests, the identities of the suspects and the circumstances surrounding Terry's death.
